The WiFi-HiFi is often the staple choice for music in the space, it can play MP3s, most formats and internet radio streams.

It's often playing Planet Rock, typically.

The WiFi-HiFi musicates the space. Running [http://www.musicpd.org/ mpd], it can play most formats including internet radio streams.


To control the WiFi-HiFi you need to be on the local network using an MPD client. To add to the playlist, stop/start the music or such you just connect to 'wifihifi' with default details and alter the playlist accordingly.
It's often playing Planet Rock, sadly.

Music in the library is stored on the [[NAS]], and currently is organised into directories based on who copied it there. If you add more music, mpd will need a library refresh triggering.

No authentication is required, but you'll need to be on the hackspace network in order to connect.

Clients

  • Windows users can get gmpc here.
